J. W. Cox Funeral To Be Held Today

Funeral was to be held at Elliott's chapel at 2 o'clock this afternoon for J. W. Cox, 68, who died unexpectedly from a heart attack Sunday afternoon at his home two miles south of Dudley.

Dr. J. H. Hambln, pastor of First Methodist church, was to officiate for the funeral, after which the body was to be taken to the Tecumseh cemetery near Dudley for burial.

Born in DeWitt county May 18, 1873, Cox moved to Abilene when he was only a few years of age and had spent nearly all of his life in or near here.

He was married to Fannie Motley at Denton 45 years ago and they owned homes in Abilene and at Dudley, dividing their time between the two. For a number of years he was associated with the Abilene Candy company, and at one time worked for the J. M. Radford grocery company.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Walter Cox of Olney, who was visiting him at the time of death.
