He married Alvah Hayter on 21 June 1935 at Amarillo. Mr. Cox graduated Abilene High School and Texas Tech College in Lubbock. The couple moved to Olney in 1939 and he was retired from the city utility as superintendent. He was a member of the Methodist CHurch, where he was a member of the Administrative Board and chairman of the ushers.
Cox was a member of the Olney Lions Club and retired member of the Olney Volunteer Fire Department.
He entered the Navy in 1942, trained in Florida and Massachusetts as a Radar officer. Served in USA. Awarded GC Medal, Amer. Camp. Medal and Victory Medal. Discharged in 1945.
