REIDSVILLE - Evelyn Wade Trent Hedgecoe, 85, died Sunday, May 12, 1996, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital Skilled Care Unit.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Moore and the Rev. David Huggins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late William Jasper and Jettie Washburn Wade and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a former Dorm Mother at Elon College and Greensboro College. She was a former member of the Calvary Home Demonstration Club and the Reidsville Woman's Club. Mrs. Hedgecoe was a former member of the Philathea Sunday School Class and a former leader of the Girls Auxiliary at First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Charles W. Trent, III of Martinsville, Va., and Elton H. Trent, Jr. of Reidsville; three daughters, Ann T. McAlister and Judith W. Trent, both of Reidsville and Gail T. Shelton of Eden; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
