Mr. Mansfield L. "M.L." Bedenbaugh, 87, of Lake City, FL died Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Health Center of Lake City. He was born in Lake City, FL, the son of Raymond A. and Mary H. Bedenbaugh and had lived in Lake City all his life.

He was retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital with 30 years of service. He loved to do carpentry work and odd jobs for his family and friends. He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church and served as Chairman of the Cemetery Committee until last year. In his spare time he was an avid square dancer and was a charter member of the Dixie Dancers and the Square Wheels Camping Club. He loved being with his family and friends.

On February 14, 1942, he married Bessie Pearl Thames, who preceeded him in death in 1997.

Also preceeding him were an infant daughter, Cynthia Angela Bedenbaugh; brothers, Robert Bedenbaugh and R. H. Bedenbaugh; sisters Alma Witt Fortner, Susan Witt, Vera Wheeler, Louise Colley, Elizabeth Nettles, Tolula Avery; and two son-in-laws, Al Talbird and Warren Hollingsworth

Mr. Bedenbaugh is survived by three daughters, Shirley Hollingsworth, Lake City, Leler Murphy (Joe George), Memphis, TN and Charlotte Talbird, Dublin, GA; grandchildren, Scott (Michele) Hollingsworth, Eric (Kelly) Hollingsworth, Ann Talbird, Jill (Eric) Mason, Matt Talbird and 8 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law, Irene Bedenbaugh and brother-in-law, Raymond Colley. And a host of nieces and nephews. Special friends, Oudra Thomas, Budell, Dawn and Ashley Witt also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Bedenbaugh will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Lake City with Rev. Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 986 SW Riverside Ave. Ft. White, FL 32038 or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1805, Lake City, FL 32056-1805. Arrangements are under the direction of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S. HWY 441, Lake City. (386) 752-1954.
