Stillwater resident, Norman Dale Talkington (88), has passed on February 5, 2020. Born June 26, 1933, at the Zipse family home in Verden, OK. Graduated Anadarko High School (1951), Oklahoma State University – BS (1959), Oklahoma City University – MBA (1966). Dale enlisted US Air Force as a private in 1953 serving in Korea and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1957. Talkington retired with Rank of Major - USAF Reserves while logging many hours of service in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. Predeceased by parents Norman Lloyd Talkington and Ethel (Zipse) Talkington Survived by older brother, Joe Ed Talkington. Also survived by his children - Mark Talkington (Brenda), Craig Talkington (Diana), Jane Talkington, and Sarah Figarola (Tulio) + numerous grandchildren. Dale's lifelong hobby was Genealogical Research: Specifically Civil War Veterans with post-war ties to Oklahoma, Documenting/researching The Oklahoma Veteran's Cemetery (formerly The Union Soldier's Cemetery – OKC, OK), and general family history dating " all the way back to a time across the pond." Past President and Board Member of Oklahoma Genealogical Society. Author of the following books: Tributes of Blue – Obituaries of Civil War Union Soldiers and Sailors Buried in Oklahoma, Birth and Death Notices - Oklahoma and Indian Territories from 1871, A time remembered – The Verden, Oklahoma Cemetery, Gardens of Stone – Harper County, Oklahoma, Anadarko - Days of Glory, and Interjections for Aggies, et al.

There will be no public funeral service per our father's wishes.
