Jansjen Lievers was born in February 1891 in the country village of Aalten, located in the extreme east of the Netherlands, close to the German border, daughter of Gerrit Jan Lievers (26 years old, factory labourer) and Grada Zwienink. Source: scan of her birth certificate.

On April 23, 1908 the 19 years old factory labourer Jansjen Lievers married in Aalten the two years younger factory labourer and remotely to her related Hendrik Lievers, son of factory labourer Jan Willem Lievers and Johanna Vrieze.

They had the following children:
* Jan Willem (Bill), July 29, 1908, Aalten;
* Gerharda Johanna (Harda), October 10, 1909, Haart, municipality Aalten;
* Gerrit Jan (John), April 29, 1912, Haart, municipality Aalten.

Her husband Hendrik Lievers was in all those years a factory labourer.

In April 1913 Jansi (21 years old), her husband Hendrick Lievers (24, farmer), and their children Jan W (5), Gerharda (4) and Gerrit Jan (10 months) arrived on the ship Tunisian at Quebec, Canada. They first settled in Edmonton, the capital of province Alberta, where Hendrik's brother Ben (Berend) Lievers was already living.
On the same ship sailed Jan Lievers (18, farmer), whose destination was also Edmonton.

On July 19, 1914 son Harry (Hendrik) Lievers was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

During World War I the family Lievers moved with a group of Dutchmen to Engen in British Columbia, Canada to begin a settlement there.

On February 21, 1918 daughter Johanna Elisabeth (Annie) was born in Engen, British Columbia.

The settlement in Engen was not a success and the family Lievers moved from there to a number of different places in British Columbia.

On March 28, 1919 son Gerrit (George) was born in Hutton, British Columbia.

In February 1920 they moved to the Dutch agrarian settlement Neerlandia in central Alberta, founded in December 1911.

On December 15, 1920 they took out in Neerlandia a quarter (of a square mile, 160 acres) as homestead.

On January 14, 1921 son Jacob (Jim) was born in Neerlandia, and on September 19, 1922 son Edward.

Around 1922 Jenny became sick and was later bedridden for three years with asthma and pneumonia. In February 1927 she died at the age of almost 36 years as a result of a ruptured appendix. After her death daughter Harda kept the house.

In 1932 her widower Hendrik remarried to the 20 years younger Katherine Bozak, who was born in 1909 and brought two children with her, Frank (1925) and Violet Tillotson (1928).

Her widower Hendrik died in 1974 at the age of 85 years, and his second wife Katherine a few months later, at the age of 56 years.
