MACLEOD GAZETTE - OBITUARY EXCERPTS
Jim Lievers of Fort Macleod beloved husband of the late Joan Lievers, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at age of 91 years.

Besides his wife Joan, Jim was predeceased by his daughter Jo-Anne (John) Milroy.

Jim was the seventh child born to Henrik and Jansjen (Jenny) on Jan. 14, 1921 in Neerlandia, Alta. Jim joined the Canadian Army in 1942 and was stationed in Borden, England, as a sergeant instructor.

While in England, Jim met Joan Etta Styles. Jim and Joan were married on June 28, 1945 in Birmingham, England. Upon returning to Canada, Jim and Joan settled in Fort Macleod. Jim worked for a Purity 99 agent, then was self-employed hauling fuel for Purity 99 Gas Co., then in partnership of a Ford dealership, then was an agent for Shell Oil and Cominco Fertilizer.

Upon his retirement in 1984 Jim enjoyed horseback riding and team roping.
