Kenneth Wayne Remmerde
December 28 1942 - February 17 2016

Ken was born in Rock Valley, Iowa, to
John and Marie (Sandbulte) Remmerde.

He was married to Helen (Driesen), the love of his life for over 50 years.

As a freedom-loving patriotic American, he was proud of his Dutch lineage, his rural Iowa upbringing, and family farming heritage.

He was patient, kind, generous, and loving to his wife and children. And most of all, he was thankful to his Savior Jesus Christ, and sought to praise God in all he did.

He farmed in northwestern Iowa until the early 1970s, when he moved west and built a chicken egg ranch in Ontario, California.

In 1980, he started a dairy farm in Turner, Oregon.

He moved to the Aumsville, Oregon area in the mid 1980s where he remained for many years.

He operated his own long haul truck for most of the last 20 years, logging over 2 million miles transporting goods all over the USA.

He passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of February 17 at the age of 73 from an aortic aneurysm.

While he will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, he was prepared and eager to move on to the glorious afterlife and into the arms of his Heavenly Father.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents,
his sister Anna Marie De Boer.

A memorial service will be held on Feb. 25 at 2:00pm at Salem First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Tim Crump officiating. Assisting is City View Funeral Home in Salem, Oregon.
