Anna Marie De Boer, 70, of Rock Valley died Saturday, October 21, at Hegg Memorial Hospital In Rock Valley.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating.
Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Mrs. De Boer was born March 19, 1925, near Carmel, the daughter of John H. and Marie (Sandbulte) Remmerde.
She married Nicholas De Boer February 23, 1945, in Rock Valley. The couple lived at Paris, Texas, a few months before they began farming near Rock Valley.
He died March 11, 1978, and she moved to Rock Valley in February 1988.
She was an active member of First Christian Reformed Women's Circles, Rock Valley Christian Women's Club and was a volunteer at Rock Valley's Valley Manor.
Survivors Include three sons and their wives, Rodney and Evelyn of Prinsburg, Minnesota, Vernon and Carol and Bernard and Betty, all of Rock Valley; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Dr. Paul Van Roekel of Sioux Center; her father, John Remmerde of Rock Valley; two brothers and their wives, Herbert and Alice Remmerde of Rock Valley and Kenneth and Helen Remmerde of Aumsville, Oregon; two sisters and their husbands, Johanna and Mike Overman of Sioux Center and Phyllis and Floyd Wasmund of Hemet, California; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her mother, Marie Remmerde; a granddaughter. Elizabeth De Boer; and a son-in-law, Howard Holwerda.
