Mildred Macomson Royston, age 87, of Lavonia, Ga. passed away October 7, 2015 at the Hart Care Center.
Born August 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Rev. S.E. Macomson and Mary Ella Atkinson Macomson. She was the wife of the late Sheriff, W. Clifford "Cliff" Royston who died in office from cancer. She had retired from Coats & Clark. After the passing of her husband, she became the interim Sheriff to fulfill his duties, 1980 until January 1, 1981, the end of his elected term.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a choir member and a member of the WMU.
