Robert Clifton Macomson, 85, of the Red Hill Community, passed away Sunday morning, February 1, 2009, at the Stephens County Hospital. Born August 20, 1923 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Rev. Samuel Edgar and Mary Ella Atkinson Macomson. He was the brother of the late D.W. Macomson, Etheridge Macomson, S.E. Macomson, Jr., Harley Kelley, Rachel McCall, Pauline Toney, Blanche Adams, Mattie Cochran, and Nazareth Dickerson. He worked at Coats and Clark of Toccoa for 35 years. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include: His wife, Hazel Cisson Macomson. His daughter and son-in-law, Sam and Dianne Macomson Mauldin, Toccoa, GA Step-son, Ken Thompson, Ila, GA His sister, Mildred Royston, Lavonia, GA His brother, George Macomson, Carnesville, GA Two grandchildren and grandchildren -in-law, Dene and Tim Hicks and Rob and Monica Mauldin Two step-grandchildren, William Thompson and Jessica Thompson Three great-grandchildren, Andy Hicks, Matthew Hicks and Hampton Mauldin Numerous nieces and nephews Services will be Tuesday morning February 3, 2009, at 11 am at the Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd West, Clarence Davis, Rev. David Sosbee, and Rev. Ben Walker. Burial will be in the Allen United Methodist Church Cemetery. His nephews, Ken Macomson, Sammy Macomson, Mark Macomson, James Macomson, David Royston, Keith McCall, and Steve Kelley, will serve as pallbearers. The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville, GA. The family is at the home. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 Monday afternoon February 2, 2009, and 7 until 9 pm Monday evening February 2, 2009.The family request that memorials be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 6077 Highway 145, Carnesville, GA 30521.
