CANTON - Joyce F. Soucy, 58, died Friday at Clover Hospice in Auburn where she had been a patient for the past five months. She was a resident of Victorian Villa in Canton for seven years prior to her move to Clover Hospice.
She was born at Woodstock Aug. 23, 1929, the daughter of Guy and Amy Ellingwood Farris. She attended schools in Sumner and Buckfield. On July 8, 1949 she married Fred Soucy Jr., he died April 9, 1975. A resident of Lewiston for 25 years, Mrs. Soucy was employed for over 20 years in the housekeeping department at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was a member of the East Sumner Congregational Church.
Survivors include one brother, Horace E. Farris of Brunswick; five sisters, Mrs. Elva Niemi of Lewiston, Mrs. Isabel Bedard, Mrs. Jody Trenoweth and Mrs. Jane Stevens, all of Sumner Hill, and Mrs. Iva Bragg of East Sumner, 43 nieces and nephews and 90 grandnieces and grandnephews.
