Mrs. Sharpe was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Claude and Lela Ledbetter King. She was married to Willie Sharpe, who died in 1995, and she was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Penland of
and Gerelene Hodge of Rutherfordton; two sons, Wilburn Sharpe of Leicester and William Sharpe of Canton; sister, Kizzie Messer of Leicester; brother, Herman King of Leicester; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nine
great-great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 11
step-great-grandchildren and seven step-great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the
Revs. Claude Surrett, Joe Sellars and Paul Sluder officiating. Interment will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Beulah Baptist Church cemetery.
