Mr. King was born in Buncombe County and was the son of the late Earl H. and Allie Sharpe King.
He was a loving husband for 46 years to his wife, Peggy Smith King and is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Lundberg and her husband, Bruce, and Amy Cameron and her husband, Rob, all of Colorado; two sons, Joel H. King of Weaverville and Craig W. King of Candler; five grandchildren, Candace King, Joel
King Jr., Whitney King, Allie Lundberg and Andrew Lundberg; and seven sisters, Lucy Jones and her husband, Andrew, Argylle (Mrs. Russell) Wells, Jeanette Teague and her husband, Jerry, Thelma Wines and her husband, Howard, Geraldine Capps and her husband, Ronnie, Marie Parker and her husband, Glen, and Glenda Henson and her husband, Roy.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
