Lucy King Jones, 82, of North Turkey Creek Road, Leicester, died Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Mrs. Jones was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Earl H. and Allie Sharpe King. She was married to Andrew F. Jones, who died in 2006, and she was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard W. King.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed helping her husband in the operation of their family farm. They were members of Beulah Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Larry Jones and his wife, Rose; and sisters, Glenda Henson and husband, Roy, Geraldine Capps, Thelma Wines and husband, Howard, Marie Parker, Jeanette Teague and husband, Jerry, and Argylle Wells.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Ricky Wolfe and David Plemmons officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service
