Charles Benjamin “C.B.” Fail, age 72, died Wednesday at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Sneads Ferry, he was the son of the late Charles Benjamin Fail, Sr. and Lula Crews Fail. He worked for J.P. Stevens for many years and attended Rosewood Church of God. He loved his God, his church and all of his church family as if they were his own

He loved to Garden during the summer months and had an extreme love for animals, especially his little Pomerania dog, BoBo, who preceded him in death. His greatest love in his last years was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were his heart!

A service to celebrate C.B.’s life will be held Friday evening at 6:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastors Thomas McLendon and Bill Cotton officiating. Family members will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park.

C.B. is survived by his wife, Laura Ellen Wade Fail; Sharon Fail Paine of Pikeville; son, Jay Faison Fail (Lynn) of Pikeville; daughter, Kimberly Fail Evans (Martin) of Pikeville; grandchildren, Amanda M. Turnage (Terry) of Pikeville, Brian A. Paine of Pikeville, Morgan A. Evans, Blake E. Evans, Adam M. Evans all of Pikeville, Joshua L. Poole (Kelly) of Goldsboro, Joey D. Poole (Renee) of Goldsboro, Johanna L. Luckinbill (Don) of Pikeville; Great grandchildren, Logan, Cooper and Tucker Turnage, Madison and Elayna Paine; Jayce and Kole Poole, Jayden Windham and Preston Luckinbill; brothers, Jimmy R.
