Grace Miller Adkins, age 93, of the Ramsey Town Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 at Mission Memorial Campus. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Dollie Wilson Miller and wife of the late Cecil Adkins who passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Layla Higgins and Blanche Miller and brothers: Jay, Floyd, Holt and Ross Miller. She worked at Blue Ridge Pottery for a number of years and was a member of Millers Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Grace was a giving person who loved her Lord and her family.

Surviving is her daughters: Phyllis Wilson and husband, Glenn, of Bald Mountain, Linda Peterson and husband, Sid, of Ramsey Town and Glenda Hopson and husband, Tommy, of Green Mountain; son, Gary Adkins and wife, Deanna, of Bald Creek; sisters: Lassie Buchanan and Belle Foster both of Erwin, TN; sister-in-law, Ruth Quiett of Asheville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 30th, 2014 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Denny Wilson and Rev. Phillip Hughes will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 1st in the Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin, TN.
