Lassie Miller Buchanan, age 98, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Unicoi County Long Term Care. She was a native of Yancey County and a daughter of the late Charlie and Dollie Wilson Miller. Lassie was the oldest living member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church at the time of her death. Her passion for gardening and canning was well known throughout her friends and family and was a source of pride for her husband. In addition to her parents, Lassie is preceded in death by husband Taylor Buchanan: brothers: Floyd, Ross, Holt, and Jay Miller; sisters: Blanche Miller, Lala Higgins and Grace Adkins.
