rs. Dorothy Garner Bourn, age 58 of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Bourn attended the Atlanta Baptist Church and was a native of Winnfield. She was secretary at Winnfield Sr. High School for several years and later was an employee at Care One and then Central Management Company. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also loved Saints and LSU football. Her favorite hobby however, was shopping.

Mrs. Bourn was the daughter of the late Leroy E. Garner and the late Rose B. Hammonds Garner. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Bourn.

Survivors include two daughters Mandy Lasyone and her husband JEff of Verda, La., and Nancy Adkins and her husband Matt of Princeton, La., three grandchildren Lathan and Latney Lasyone and Charlie Adkins.

She is also survived by a sister Ruby Garner of Winnfield and two brothers Teddy Garner of Winnfield, La., and Jerry Garner of Shreveport, La.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 14 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Dusty Durbin and Aaron Gowens officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home beginning on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and also on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Walker, Ira Baxley, Steven Garner, L. C. Bourn Jr., Johnny Bourn, and Roger Smith.

Memorial donations may be made to the Atlanta Baptist Church and or the American Cancer Society.
