Grietje Leep married on 26 January 1922 in her birth and residence place Sint Annaparochie, the seat of municipality Het Bildt, in the northwestern part of the Dutch northern province Friesland, at the age of 24 years to the two years older christian reformed teacher Eelke Dijkstra, born on 5 January 1896 in Beetgum, municipality Menaldumadeel, son of Jacob Dijkstra and Sipkje Terpstra.

Grietje Leep and Eelke Dijkstra had the following children:
* Antje Dijkstra, born 9 November 1923, died 20 December 2001, unmarried, head nurse (hoofdverleegkundige) of the psychiatric hospital at the small city of Franeker, Friesland;
* Sipkje Dijkstra, b. 18 September 1923, d. 5 September 2011, unmarried, teacher BLO and VMBO;
* Haring Dijkstra, b. 11 January 1930, d. 11 May 2007, married to Sara Stuurman and had seven children. He was a Christian Reformed referend at seven different places.
* Jacob "Jaep" Dijktra, b. 14 April 1934, married to Wietsche Mina Wijma, b. 5 October 1934. Both not religious. They had three children and Jaep was a teacher of history and Frisian language.

Grietje's husband Eelke Dijkstra was a teacher at several places and during 32 years school's head at the country village of Engwierum.

Grietje, in the Frisian language called Grytsje, was the last Leep who lived in Friesland; so by her death in December 1976 at the age of 78 years in Leeuwarden, the capital of Friesland, the Leep family died out in Friesland, but survived in the USA. Her widower Eelke Dijkstra died in July 1980 at the age of 84 years in Leeuwarden too.
