Will Be Held Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Lambert Kooiker will be held at the First Reformed Church of Hull today, Thursday, January 13, 1966 beginning at 1:30 o'clock. Prayer services for members of the family will be held in the church parlors at 1:00 o'clock. The Reverend Harold C. Ringenoldus will officiate. Interment will be made at Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa.
Gertrude (Dot) Te Slaa, born to Gerrit Jan Te Slaa and Gertrude Kruiselbrink on November 3, 1888, at Aalten, Gelderland, The Netherlands, came with her parents to the United States, at the age of four, and settled in Sioux County.
She made her public confession of faith at the age of 18 years at Hull, Iowa.
She married Lambert Kooiker on May 4, 1911, at Hull, Iowa. To this marriage were born four sons and one daughter: Ralph of Hull, Iowa; Gerrit of Rock Rapids; Albert of Madison, South Dakota; Donald of Rock Rapids; and Viola (Mrs. Peter J. Van Driel) of Rock Valley, Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother; four sisters, Drieka, Johanna, Cynthia and Drieka Cynthia in infancy; three brothers, Gerrit, John and Hendrik.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Lambert; four sons, Ralph, Gerrit, Albert and Donald; and daughter, Viola: 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Dora Vander Schaaf; her sister, Dena Hospers, and brother, William Te Slaa, and a host of relatives and friends.
