Her mother Lamke van der Velde Van Til died in November 1918 in Lake County, Indiana, very probably in Griffith or Highland, at the age of 36 years.

In 1920 Trina Vantil (5 years old), her father Reinder Vantil (37, farmer), her all in Indiana born siblings Edward (15), Clasina (14), Willie (11), Samuel (9), Riemer (7) and John (2 y, 7 m) resided in Sheridan, Newaygo County, in the western part of Michigan.
So her family Van Til moved within the last 2 1/2 years from northwestern Indiana to western Michigan .

On May 31, 1923 her father Reinder Van Til (41) remarried in Fremont, Newaygo, Michigan the eleven years younger Sena Brucker, born in Germany, daughter of Herman Bus... and Gertie Rottman.

In 1930 Trena Vantil (15), her father Reinder (48), stepmother Sena (37), siblings Reimer (18), Nickolas (14), John (12 y), stepsiblings Cornelius Vantil (3 y, born in Michigan), Josie Brenker (15, Michigan), Gertrude Brenker (14, Michigan), Harry Brenker (13, Michigan) and Helen Brenker (11, Michigan) were living in West Creek, Lake County, located in the extreme northwestern part of Indiana.

In May 1990 her husband Garrett Leep died at the age of 85 years in Highland, Lake County, Indiana. Widow Trena died there too, in February 1996, at the age of 81 years.

Trena Leep, 81, of Highland, IN. passed away on Thursday, February 22, 1996. Survived by three sons, Rowland (Tobbie) Leep of Oregon, Garry (Diana) Leep of Indiana and Robert Leep of Griffith; four daughters, Loretta (William) McQueary of Highland, Elaine (Gene) McGlone of Illinois, Ruth (Kenneth) Dawson of Illinois and Patricia Leep of Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four brothers, John (Alice) Van Til of Illinois, Harry (Bea)
Brueker of Indiana, Cornelius (Rosemary) Van Til of Highland and Paul (Linda) Van Til of Highland; one sister, Gertrude Zandstra of Schererville; brother-in-law, John Kuiper of Highland; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Van Til
of Michigan and Mildred Van Til of Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Lois Leep of Minnesota. Preceded in death by husband, Garrett and son, Earl.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 1996, 11 a.m.directly at the Second Christian Reformed Church 3010 Ridge Road, Highland, IN., with Rev. Ronald Meyer officiating. Burial at Hope Cemetery, Highland, IN. Friends may meet with the family Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (2 blks South of Ridge Road), Highland, IN.
Mrs. Leep was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Highland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Highland Christian School Foundation.
