Bio

I have been doing genealogy research since 1987. I research all families in Newton County, Mississippi who had ancestors in the county from the 1830's to present day. My database has 250k+ individuals and 90k families. I am related to thousands of living and deceased persons in Newton & surrounding counties. I am currently using this information to update findagrave memorials as I write Vol II.

I published a book on Amazon: The Newton Record 1929-1938 (Volume 1) and am currently working on Vol 2. The Newton Record was published in Newton, Mississippi from December 5, 1901 until its closing with the last issue on January 14, 2009. It is an incredible genealogy resource for Newton County researchers. The newspaper contains tens of thousands of items relating to families, individuals and daily life. This book contains abstracts of many types of news items, including obituaries, engagements, marriages, births and general news items deemed interesting to readers. Whether you are a Newton County, Mississippi genealogy researcher, a Mississippi resident, interested in the history of a slice of Mississippi life in 1929-1938 or simply interested in reading of yester years, I hope you enjoy the content of this book.
