Alton Bunnell, 86, of Cedar Hill, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2002, at home. Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with Julie Pennington-Russell officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, at BrookView Funeral Home, Waco.

Alton was born in Hamilton County, Texas, and had lived most of his life in Waco. He moved to a retirement community in Cedar Hill, Texas, last year. Alton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waco for over 50 years. He owned a wholesale automotive supply business. Alton was intitiated into the Masonic Blue Lodge in 1939 in Hubbard. In 1946, he joined Karem Shrine Temple in Waco.

Alton helped organize the Karem Motor Patrol in 1954. He was intiated into the Royal Order of Jesters in 1961 and was director in 1965. Alton served as photographer for Karem Temple from 1965 to 1979. From 1988 until 1992, he served as Chairman of the Crippled Children's Hospital Transportation Group that transported children from Waco to Galveston.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Bunnell in 1991.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Bryan Bunnell; daughter, Lynda Parker and husband, Pat, of Grand Prairie, Texas; granddaughter, Julie Bunnell, of Arlington; brother, William A. Bunnell, of Englewood, Florida; and many other loving family members and friends.
