Mary "Alice" Shepherd Bennett Payne, 83, of Lakeland, FL. went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2012 due to a stroke. Mrs. Payne was born on May 14, 1929 in Lyons, Georgia. She worked for W.T. Grant. Mrs. Payne was a retired department manager for Wal-Mart. She moved to Dade City and then to Lakeland from Leesburg in 1980.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Tom; three sons, Jimmy (Cindy) Bennett of Ocoee, Rick Bennett of Lady Lake and Jeff Bennett of Lakeland, FL; three brothers, Walter, Mickey and Jack Shepherd ; sister, Betty Hurlburt ;10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM with funeral services on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Fruitland Park, FL. Arrangements are entrusted to Banks/Page-Theus Funerals and Cremations, Wildwood.
