Funeral services for Clayton Crisp, 44, World War veteran, were held at the home Saturday at 1 p.m. with burial in Dogwood cemetery immediately following.
Mr Crisp had been very ill for some months and became critically ill about 3 weeks ago, passing away Friday, January 21 at 6 a.m.
The family came here from Rhea county about 2 years ago and have been in poor circumstances for many months.
He is survived by his wife, the former Nervie Edwards and 7 children, the oldest a boy of 17 and the youngest a girl of 8 1/2, with 3 boys and 2 girls in between.
The American Legion and its auxiliary have endeavored to see that the sick man had a physician's attention and proper food and food and clothing for the whole family. Local church and many individuals have assisted.
