Obituary:
Nelle Clack Chattin, 92, of Spring City died Friday, March 15, 2002 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.

A lifelong resident of Rhea County, she was the daughter of the late R. M. "Mac" and Myrtle Brady Clack. She and her husband the late W. F. "Bill" Chattin owned and operated W. F. Chattin Furniture and Hardware Store for many years. She was also a schoolteacher for several years in Rhea and Cumberland Counties. Her brothers, Morgan and W. B. "Bill" Clack, and a sister, Bessie Smith, preceded her in death.
Chattin was a longtime member of the Yellow Creek Baptist Church where she served as clerk for over 40 years. She was also a member of the Wolf Creek Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-laws, Glenn and Aline Chattin of Spring City, Fred and Joyce Chattin of Oak ; Ridge, Danny and Linda Chattin of Spring City; one brother, Raleigh Clack of Hixson; one sister Lela Roddy of Rockwood, five grandchildren, Marc and Susan Chattin of Knoxville, Tony Chattin of Dayton, Steve Chattin of Bridgeport, AL, and Bill Chattin of Murfreesboro; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Yellow Creek Baptist Church with Rev. James Grant and Dr. Roger Rothwell officiating. Burial was in Ewing Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City was in charge of arrangements.
