MARS HILL - Funeral services for Mrs. Willie B. (Artie Belle Blankenship/Carter) Metcalf, 56, who died Sunday at her home in Paint Fork, Madison County, will be held at the family cemetery at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with the rev. W. L. Edwards and the Rev. James Corn officiating.
Active pallbearers will be: O.E. Anderson, Paul Carter, G. G. Metcalf, J. B. Ray, Clyde English, and Kenneth Higgins.
Survivors include the husband (Willie Metcalf), two sons, Talmadge and Dan Metcalf of Mars Hill, the father, P. C. (Socrates C) Blankenship, and a step-father, W. E. (William L) Carter. She leaves the following brothers and sisters Mrs. Albert Higgins, Mrs. Fred Maney, Mrs. Bert Wilds and Earl Carter, all of Asheville; Roy Carter of Washington, DC., Ralph Carter of Salisbury; Grady Elkins, and Mrs. Agnes Banks, Ray and Alvin Blankenship, all of Yancey County, and Mrs. Vivian Jamerson of Mars Hill.
West Funeral Home, Weaverville, is in charge.
