Mr. Jack Duffell, age 90, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at McLeod Loris Hospital following a brief illness. Born on November 4, 1921 in San Antonio, TX he was the son of Mr. James Lynwood Duffell and Mrs. Annabelle Brown Duffell. Mr. Duffell was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941, and he went on to serve his country proudly for twenty-one years in the USAF. After his military career, Mr. Duffel worked as an Assistant Manager with Whiteville Airport while he maintained an active role in the community as a longtime member of Old Zion Wesleyan Church and Past Master of Tabor Lodge #563 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Childress and husband, Bill of Loris, SC, son, Dr. Marty E. Duffell and wife, Terry of Cameron, NC, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Mr. Duffell was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Irene Butler Duffell and his second wife, Edna Grainger Duffell.
