Paul Counts, 71, of Charleston, died Sunday at home after a long illness.

He was a retired employee of Columbia Gas in the compressor department. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Surviving: sisters, Mrs. Alma Berry and Mrs. Virginia Lowe, both of Sissonville; brothers, Bernard Counts of Ripley, Sanford Duff of Kenna.

Service was held Tuesday in Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Pocatalico with Rev. Guy Smith and the Rev. Arnold Shaffer officiating. Burial was in Counts Cemetery, Jackson County.
