Mrs. Broughton was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed puzzles, cleaning and was an avid UK basketball fan.
On December 5, 2009, she united in marriage with Johnnie Broughton in Grant County.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Hale.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Broughton of Corinth; her father, David V. Smith Sr. and wife, Elaine, of Brookville, IN; two children, Theresa Broughton and husband, Brian, of Gray and Samantha Jordan and husband, Jerry, of Corinth; eight sisters, Louise Smith of Gray, Elaine Olert and husband, Jim, of Paris, Kimberly Grundy and Connie O'Neil and husband, Jack, all of Brookville, IN, Jackie Bargo and Rhonda Bargo both of Callebs Creek, Jennifer Hendrickson and husband, Robert, of Gray and Laura Susan Galyen and husband, Marty, of Brookville, IN; a brother, Rev. David V. Smith Jr. and wife, Charlene, of Brookville, IN; six grandchildren, Aousharay Jordan, Emma Broughton, Jaden Jordan, Kai Prince, Tyler Prince and Tressie Faye; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, September 14 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Darrell Hale, Rev. Ricky Broughton and Rev. David V. Smith Jr. officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Grubb Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be her nephews. Honorary bearers will be her cousins.
