Mr. Hudgins was born July 11, 1926 in Madison County to the late James Dexter Hudgins and the late Althea Robinson Hudgins. He had resided most of his life in Buncombe County and had formerly been employed as a custodian of Sandy Mush School in Leicester. He was a farmer and also a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Hudgins attended Jones Valley Baptist Church and he loved gospel music. He was an avid grouse hunter and truly enjoyed spending time outdoors. Luke loved his family deeply and his precious memory shall be cherished forever.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Ethel Justice Hudgins; his daughters, Joyce Robinson and her husband, Reverend Steve Robinson of Leicester and Judy Swanson and her husband, Bruce Swanson of Clyde; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
