Modeste was born in Van Buren, Maine the daughter of Simeon and Helen Madore. She was living in Augusta Maine with her family when she married (widower) Leo Beaudoin on May 19, 1928. The family returned to Rochester after they were married and Modeste lived there for the next 58 years. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was the mother of four sons, Leo Jr., Kenneth, Donald and Gerard. Four daughters, Lucille, Pauline, Joan and Yvonne.
