He also rode successfully at Churchill Downs, Turfway Park and Ellis Park on the Kentucky circuit. He is inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame and was the first jockey inducted in the Canterbury Downs Hall of Fame. He appeared at Santa Anita in 2001 to receive the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award and won the New York Racing Association's Mike Venezia Memorial Award in 2002. Cause death, cancer at age 48.
