Obituary: "Charles Foster Holmes, 59, lifelong resident of Litchfield, died last night in Lodi Hospital following a year's illness. Mr. Holmes was employed by the General Motors Corporation in Elyria and was a member of Litchfield Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Leona; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Vormelker and Mrs. Rina Blanche, both of Litchfield; a son, Charles Holmes Jr, with the US Army in France; two grandchildren; and a brother, Clyde, of Fremont. The funeral will be held Monday at 1pm at the Parker Funeral Home in Lodi. Burial will be in Litchfield Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home tomorrow night and Sunday night."
