Barton Grimsley, 72, of Nedrow, beloved husband, father and brother, passed away May 27. Born in Fairmount, Bart was a son of the late John and Nina Grimsley. He was known for being a kind and gentle man. Bart was a paperhanger for 30 years in the Syracuse area. An example of his work can be seen in the Mexico High School, where he was chosen to hang a historic Revolutionary War mural.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Alice. Bart and Alice cherished each other through 30 years of marriage. Their Nedrow home is a favorite destination for their eight children: Barton (Diane) Grimsley, Brian (Julie) Grimsley, Pamela (Blaise) Cotogna, Daniel (Edith) Haines, Charles (Kathleen) Haines, Bonnie (Michael) Church, Karen (William) Haines, Ron (Karen) Haines; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his siblings, John and Hugh Grimsley and Joanne Bizzell.

Come celebrate his life on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Syracuse Alliance Church, 3112 Midland Ave., Syracuse. Interment: White Chapel Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Turnpike, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
