Ebenezer "Eb" Cook was born November 25, 1811 (Family Bible - Transcribed by Jo Church Dickerson). He first appeared on a census in Marion County (present-day Dillon County) in 1850. No solid evidence has never been found of his residence prior to this. One of his neighbors, Solomon Miller, had a daughter Telatha Miller who he married.

Ebenezer Cook & Telatha Miller were married in Marion County in November of 1847 by Rev. John Huggins.

On September 29, 1892, his widow filed for a pension for his service in the Florida Indian Wars. Ebenezer served in the Pearce's Company, SC Volunteers, Harllee's Batt'n in the Florida War (Indian Wars).

Ebenezer had several children: Neil, Henry, John M. Marshall H., George, Alexander L., Ferdinand A., Elizabeth, Ada C., Amanda, and Martha Cook. All of the above children are buried in Cooke Family Cemetery except: George Cook (Barfield/ Cook Family Cemetery), and Amanda Cook Church (Lake View Cemetery). Ebenezer lived on the Old Mullins Hwy between the family cemetery and Crutchlow Bay and Gusta Drive. Ebenezer died on Oct. 12, 1883.
