MR. MOLTA PLUMLEY, 92, of Chesapeake, Ohio, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1987, in Huntington, W. Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1987, at Schneider Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Ohio, by the Rev. Thomas Fields. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. He was born April 23, 1895, in Lincoln County, W. Va., a son of the late Gordon and Frances Hager Plumley. He had been a resident of Chesapeake 49 years. He was a retired C&O Railway employee with 42 years of service, retiring at the age of 65. He was a member of Chesapeake Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of U.S. Army Infantry Company No. 1, 150th Division, serving during World War I in France with Gen. John J. "Black Jack" Pershing in 1917. He was a charter member of World War I Barracks No. 1993; a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2; a member of V.F.W. Post No. 1064; and a charter member of Chesapeake Memorial Post 640 of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Plumley, of 59 years in July 1981; and three sons, Marvin Gay Plumley, Harlan Kendrall Plumley and Walter Plumley. He was the last survivor of 14 children. Survivors include four daughters, Elma June Waller of South Point, Ohio, Deloris Mae Grant and Mrs. Jack (Maxine Kay) Baur, both of Huntington, and Virginia Lee Ouellette of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.; three sons, James Lowell Plumley and Russell Dewitt Plumley, both of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Earl Bernard Plumley of Proctorville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Schneider Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
