Garth along with his bubby Bill Clinton came to live with me on January 16, 1993. I went to Atlanta to get another Chihuahua from Paco's blood-line. I got him on the same day I got Bill Clinton and they were lifetime bonded brothers never leaving one another for long. They were called "bubbies" for brothers.

I don't know why I thought the singer, Garth Brooks, made a good name for my dog, but although my Garth did not wear a black hat, he was black and how that dog loved to sing. Just a coincidence, really, that my Garth sang. I did not know that when I named him!

He was a loving and social dog but timid. He followed Bill in social situations taking his time to warm up to someone new. The people I got him from actually called him Timmy for timid!

He was dedicated to his bubby Bill. Woe the day they were separated as Garth would completely fall apart. Bill passed before Garth and when I buried Bill, Garth sat by the grave and watched. It was important for him to know and it made it much easier for Garth after Bill was gone.

He died in my arms of heart disease, sadly, a family trait both his predecessor Paco and his bubby Bill all had.
