Gaman was a puppy that lived next door to my Grandmother Saar. While visiting her, I spent most of my time at the fence looking at the puppy. As we were leaving to return to our home in Louisville, the family gave him to me, but I was supposed to share him with the family. He was a wonderful dog that was dearly loved by the whole family.
After only a couple of years, my Father was transferred to Georgia. We were there about a week and there was no fence at our new home. Gaman ran away with a few other dogs and was killed by another dog. It nearly broke my Mother and my hearts. Only a child at the time, I will still never forget that moment when I was told he was gone.
