A veteran of World War II, he was retired from the United States Air Force. After having served his country for 22 years, he went to work for the State of Florida Horticulture Departure until he retired and moved back home to South Carolina.
He had a great passion for animals especially his two German Shepherds "Freedee" and "Yul".
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Lola Schrader Adams, two brothers, James Mack Adams and Cecil Samuel Adams and a nephew, Samuel Steven Adams.
Surviving are his sisters Mary Faydene (Jack)Johnson of Belleville, MI, Carolyn Irene (Ervin) Stokes of Hartsville SC, a brother Rev. Gary B. (Ruth) Adams of Kingstree SC, his many nieces and nephews and their families.
