Mrs. Stokes was a member of New Providence Baptist Church where she served in many capacities throughout her lifetime. She was a loving and devoted mother to her five children. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael E. Stokes of Hartsville.
Carolyn cherished her relationships with family and friends. She spent hours over the years keeping up with her brothers and sister with many long-distance phone calls. She was the youngest of six close-knit siblings and was preceded in death by Rev. James (Juanita) Adams, Cecil Samuel Adams, Thomas Edwin (Lola) Adams, Rev. Gary (Ruth) Adams and Fayedene (Jack) Johnson.
