Mrs. Ernest Sharpe Dead.
The angel of death entered the home of Ernest Sharpe, on Barker avenue, this morning at 4 o’clock and bore away the spirit of a beautiful Christian wife and devoted mother in the very bloom of life. One week ago yesterday a little baby boy came to gladden the hearts of this happy little family and Mrs. Sharpe got along nicely for three days when on Friday night she was taken with a severe chill and began to grow rapidly worse, death resulting from blood poisoning after great suffering. She had often spoken of dying and had repeatedly asked those near her to tell her if she could not live. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Hickox, who were visiting in Pennsylvania, were telegraphed for Sunday, and Mrs. Sharpe was told Monday that she could not live. She realized her condition and bid a fond farewell to all those about her. Tuesday evening she offered up a beautiful prayer asking the Lord to spare her life that she might raise her children. Her sister, Mrs. John Schmook, arrived from Springfield yesterday afternoon, and Mrs. Sharpe recognized her and talked with her, but Mr. and Mrs. Hickox did not arrive until after midnight last, soon after Mrs. Sharpe lost consciousness. Mrs. Hickox is completely prostrated.
Mrs. Sharpe was Miss Kern Hickox. She was raised in this town and has a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She was married to Ernest Sharpe about eight years ago. She was a Christian and her cheerful face was seen at most of the church socials and entertainments. She was 26 years of age. She leaves a bright little daughter four years of age, an infant son and a husband, parents, brothers an sisters to mourn her departure.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian church tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock and interment will take place in the El Reno cemetery.
