Mr. Joe Floyd, Jr., age 39, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center following an accident.
Born on August 18, 1972 in Loris, SC he was the son of Mr. Joe Floyd, Sr. and Mrs. Brenda Meredith Floyd.
Mr. Floyd was a graduate of Clemson University where he played football throughout his undergraduate years. He went on to work as a probation officer in Horry County and then with the Horry County Sheriff's Office until his medical retirement and he was a longtime member of Green Sea Baptist Church.
Survivors including his parents are his wife, Beth Floyd of Green Sea, SC, three sons, Hunter Joseph Floyd of Myrtle Beach, SC and John Rivers Floyd and Bennett Moore Floyd both of Green Sea, SC and his brother, Jeremy N. Floyd of Columbia, SC.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Green Sea Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Phillips, Rev. Rodney Howard and Mr. Chad Hutchins officiating. Committal services will follow at Green Sea Cemetery.
