Son of Joel B. & Anna Missouri (Hill) Hayes. The 1940 census gave his age as 54, thus born CIRCA 1895/1896.
I was told years ago that Joseph was buried at the Joel B. Hayes Cemetery with no stone, but someone else said he was buried at Lake View Cemetery. His death certificate states he was buried in the Hayes Cemetery.
Much of the rest of the death certificate, however, is totally illegible as scanned on ancestry.com, including his date of birth.
Joseph's first wife was Cora Huggins. They resided in Kemper Community on lands given to Joseph by his great aunt, Mary Brewer, who had the land from her father, old Asa Brewer.
