Mrs. Martin Punt pioneer resident of Sioux County and of Sioux Center die at the age of 72 last Thursday, October 21, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Punt, nee Kate Van Doomelen, was born at Fyland, Netherlands, on March 12, 1865, And came to America at the age of two. They lived in Holland, Mich., ten years prior tot heir settling in Sioux county.
Mr. and Mrs. Punt were married at Orange City on April 24, 1885 and after living for 35 years on a farm located three miles from Sioux Center, they moved to Sioux Center, where they have resided since.
The deceased is survived by her widower and four children: Mrs. Peter Ellerbroek and Mrs. Anthony Holstein of Sheldon, Miss Cora Punt and Cornelius Punt of Sioux Center.
Mrs. Martin Vander Meer, a daughter preceded her mother in death last May.
Mrs. Punt's death is also mourned by Mrs. Gertrude Addink, a sister, living in Orange City, and by four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 25, from the home and from the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. The Rev. L.A. Brunsting officiated and burial was in teh Sioux Center cemetery.
