Martin Punt Dies At His Home In Sioux Center

Mr. Martin Punt passed away at his home at Sioux Center on Thursday morning, May 31st. On May 22nd he had reached the age of 90 years, thus being one of the oldest Sioux Center residents. He had been ailing for several months but died suddenly.

He is survived by one son, Neal M. Punt of Sioux Center, and three daughters, Mrs. Peter Ellebroek of Sheldon, and Rena and Cora who made their home with him. He is further survived by a brother, Cornelius Punt of Sioux Center, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Kots of Los Angeles, California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter Mrs. Martin Vander Meer, two sisters Maggie (Mrs. Dick Schut) and Gertie (Mrs. Dries Rozeboom) and three brothers Arie of Orange City and Gerrit and Adam of Sioux Center.

Funeral services were held on saturday afternoon at the home and at the First Reformed Church with Rev. p. A. De Jong officiating. Burial took place in the family plot at the Sioux Center community cemetery.

Coming from a distance to attend the funeral were his granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Green of Des Moines.
