Theresa was employed by Hollingsworth and Whitney, later Scott Paper Co., first as a billing clerk from 1947 to 1949, then returned to work in the office from 1955 until 1956, when the job was abolished. She then became involved with the credit union movement in this area, working part time for Taconnet, Keyes Fibre, Woodenware, Cascade (now KV), and Thayer-Seton (now Health First). She devoted 25 years to the growth of area credit unions, 18 of them at Woodenware, retiring in 1980. At one time, she was manager of Woodenware, Thayer and Seton at the same time. She served on the board of directors of the Kennebec Chapter of Federal Credit Unions for several years, serving as secretary and then as the first woman president for two terms. She served as acting postmaster in Oakland from March 1966 until July 1968. Theresa was also active in the family business, Flo's Greenhouses from 1980 until she retired.
She was predeceased by her husband, Florian "Stretch" Bolduc; a son, Stephen R. Meader; a daughter, Cynthia Jane Meader; a stepson, David C. Bolduc; and a granddaughter, Brandi Rutherford.
Surviving are four sons, Gary S. Meader and companion Trina Creek of Oakland, Jeffrey Lee Meader and wife Nancy of Oakland, David A. Meader and wife Heidi of Fairfield, and Lloyd C. Meader and companion Kim of Oakland; three daughters, Marcia A. Collins of Waterville, Roberta L. Rutherford of Fairfield, and Barbara Rainville of Belfast; a sister, Betty Jane Lavalle, of Richmond; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; her stepchildren, John Bolduc and wife Cheryl, of Massachusetts, and Marie Celeste Bolduc, of Waterville.
