Ted Dohr, a brakeman on the C.M. & St. P.R'y was killed at Appleton Friday morning, Oct 16, while about his duties, by being run over by a number of cars. Mr. Dohr who is a single man about twenty-six years of age, was on the top of a box car loaded with pulp for the Riverside Fiber Company and as the car was backing in on the siding he slipped and fell between the cars and onto the rails below. His left arm and leg were almost completely severed from his body. He was taken to St. Elizabeth's hospital where he died at the same day.
The unfortunate young man was a son of Peter Dohr of the town of Woodville. Ted was very popular, not only with the railroad men with whom he had been working for the past two years but with all those who knew him. His remains were brought to Hilbert and taken to St. Mary's Catholic church where the last sad rites were performed on Monday and the body laid at rest in the cemetery. The heartbroken parents and other relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of grief.
