Joe Parton age 82 of 1624 S. Marietta Street died on a Sunday at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He is survived by one son William J. Parton; Two sisters, Mrs Ellen Wilson and Mrs. Vadie Hope both of Asheville NC. He had 15 Grand children and 36 great grand children.
Funeral services were held at 4 pm at Holiness Church of God by the REV S.M. Lane and the REV Lester Ramsey. Burial is at Edgewood Cemetery in an unmarked grave.
